The US State Department announced in a statement that US Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa,Ambassador Mike Hamer, will visit Ethiopia, Kenya and South Africa.

 The purpose of the special envoy's trip is to initiate African Union-led talks to resolve the conflict in northern Ethiopia peacefully, the office said. During his stay in Addis Ababa, the special envoy is said to discuss the matter with the Ethiopian government and African Union officials. Hamer will stay in the three countries from September 23 to October 8/2015.
